Actor Ranveer Singh is set to begin filming his upcoming zombie thriller Pralay in August 2026 before taking a paternity break around Diwali, according to media reports.

Directed by Jai Mehta, the film will reportedly be shot until Diwali, after which production will pause to allow Ranveer to spend time with wife Deepika Padukone as the couple prepares to welcome their second child. The second schedule of the film is expected to resume in 2027.

Reports suggest that a major portion of Pralay will be filmed in Australia, with Ranveer already beginning intensive physical and emotional preparation for the ambitious project. The film marks his first venture into the zombie thriller genre, with further details about the cast and storyline still under wraps.

The project comes on the back of the success of Ranveer's Dhurandhar franchise, adding another big title to his upcoming slate.

On the personal front, Ranveer and Deepika, who married in 2018, are expecting their second child after announcing the pregnancy earlier this year. The couple welcomed their daughter Dua in September 2024 and have largely kept her away from the public eye.

Deepika Padukone is currently in the final stage of her pregnancy. She will next be seen alongside Shah Rukh Khan in King and in Atlee's upcoming sci fi action film Raaka, which also stars Allu Arjun.
