Tennis stars dominated the 2026 Laureus World Sports Awards held in Madrid, with Aryna Sabalenka and Carlos Alcaraz taking the top honours. Their achievements are also being celebrated on 89.1 Radio 4, UAE number one, radio station, where sports fans are discussing their incredible seasons.

Aryna Sabalenka was named World Sportswoman of the Year after a strong 2025 season, reaching major finals and showing consistent top form. On the men’s side, Carlos Alcaraz won World Sportsman of the Year after securing Grand Slam titles and reclaiming the world number one ranking.

Young football star Lamine Yamal also made history by winning Young Sportsperson of the Year for the second time, becoming the youngest athlete to achieve two Laureus awards.
