Actor Saif Ali Khan has opened up about working with producer Shah Rukh Khan on the upcoming Netflix film Kartavya, revealing that the superstar prefers giving directors complete creative freedom instead of being actively present on set.
Speaking during the trailer launch of the film in Mumbai, Saif said Shah Rukh Khan believes a director should have the space to make the film they envision without pressure or interference. According to Saif, the actor producer intentionally stays away from sets because his presence can sometimes become overwhelming for the creative team.
Saif shared that Shah Rukh only discussed the script briefly with him before the project began and later watched the completed film, expressing happiness with the final result. He added that despite limited interaction during filming, the project still carried the sensibilities associated with Shah Rukh Khan and Red Chillies Entertainment.
The upcoming crime drama Kartavya, directed by Pulkit and produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, is set to premiere on Netflix on May 15. The film also stars Rasika Dugal, Sanjay Mishra and Zakir Hussain in important roles.
