Actor Shahid Kapoor has revealed that he is rethinking how he chooses films following the underwhelming performance of Deva and O Romeo. The actor admitted that relying solely on his instincts has not always produced the desired results and has now decided to involve his management team more closely in the decision making process.
Speaking about the change, Shahid said he now insists on script narrations being attended by members of his team rather than hearing them alone. He explained that having multiple perspectives helps avoid viewing a project through only one lens and allows for more balanced decisions.
The actor acknowledged the unpredictable nature of the film industry, noting that experience alone does not guarantee success. After more than two decades in cinema, he believes it is important to remain open to learning and adapting to changing audience preferences.
Shahid also reflected on his long standing attempt to balance artistic storytelling with commercial cinema. According to him, trying to merge the two worlds often creates unnecessary challenges. He now feels that commercial films should be approached as mainstream entertainers, while experimental projects should be pursued without expectations of large scale box office success.
The actor is currently preparing for Cocktail 2 alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon. He also has the second season of the hit web series Farzi in development, making it one of his most anticipated upcoming projects.
