UAE citizens can now renew or replace their Emirates ID in a single step, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) announced. The new system simplifies the process to just submitting an application and paying fees. Validity is age-based: 10 years for citizens aged 21 and above, and 5 years for those under 21. For replacements, the new card follows the remaining validity of the old one. Applicants cannot change validity periods. ICP said the update aligns with its “zero bureaucracy” plan, streamlining services, enhancing efficiency, and making access to smart services easier for citizens.
