Working hours across the UAE will be reduced during Ramadan 2026, which is expected to begin on Thursday, February 19.
As per labour regulations, both public and private sector employees will shift to shorter workdays to accommodate fasting and changed routines. Under Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022, private sector employees must receive a mandatory reduction of two working hours per day throughout Ramadan. This rule applies to all employees, regardless of job role, seniority, or religion. Employers may arrange flexible schedules, shifts, or remote work, as long as the reduced hours requirement is fulfilled.
