Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, on shared a post on Twitter, urging Dubai residents to participate in the Dubai Run 30x30 taking place this Friday.
"DUBAI RUN 30X30. ON SHEIKH ZAYED ROAD. FRI 8 NOV 2019. 6AM CHECK-IN. @DXBFitChallenge," the Crown Prince tweeted.
For the first time ever, Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road will turn into a running track on Friday, November 8, 2019, as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2019.
With the aim of fostering a healthy community spirit, the free-to-attend event includes a 5km fun run and a 10km run, with both routes starting and ending at Dubai World Trade Centre.
This marks the first time that people have been allowed to run on a section of the 14-lane highway, giving participants a unique, on-foot perspective of iconic sights as they come together to demonstrate their commitment to an active lifestyle and DFC's vision to make Dubai the most active city in the world.
