A special wheelchair has been built by veterinarians for a handicapped turtle who is a patient at Louisiana State University's (LSU) Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Baton Rouge.
This turtle named Pedro had one of his hind legs missing when he was adopted. He ran away from home a few months and when he returned, he had lost the other hind leg too. Pedro's owners took him to the vets who said that the turtle was fine except that he was prone to accidents. An intern from the zoological department at the hospital went to a toy store and bought a Lego car kit. The vets used some syringe parts and animal-safe epoxy, to make this little wheelchair for Pedro. A video of Pedro shared by at Louisiana State University (LSU) has gone viral on the internet. It has received over 1.44 lakh views and more than 64,000 likes.
