The final of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 cricket tournament will now be held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad after organizers scrapped the plans to play the final game in Chennai.

As defending champions, Chennai Super Kings were set to host the final at their MA Chidambaram Stadium but structural issues have made the IPL hand over the fixture to runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The issue is around three stands at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, which have been closed since 2012 due to renovation problems after work was carried out for the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
